Students in a self-directed study learn from natural horsemanship as well as German and French classical sources according to a.i.s. study-horsemanship principles.
Under the supervision of accredited practitioners they prepare for uprightness and flexibility on the ground and in the saddle, learning Feldenkrais, Hatha Yoga and Rolf Movement techniques.
Riding instructors are available to introduce students to all relevant information and assist them in achieving their goals. Instruction and trouble-shooting are integral parts of the program. The responsibility for learning, however, rests with each individual rider. He gains experience and insight from riding a number of horses for prolonged periods of time.
Study-horsemanship findings 2001-8 will assist the sorting of diverse information typical of modern equitation. Thoroughly researched training progressions, aiming at perfect balance, are provided, which all students will follow.
Available are the Haras de la Boulaye's horses of different breeds and backgrounds. Students are assigned the type and any number of horses they wish to school and learn from. Training takes place at the Haras de la Boulaye and partner locations. Students, submitting on-line texts, photos and videos, will contribute to study-horsemanship's observations and research results.
